King Kenny – Kenny Dalglish

Emelyn Hughes scored 49 goals for Liverpool throughout his long and distinguished career. He played for the English national team on a regular basis as well. Supporters of Liverpool F.C. have a lot to thank Emelyn Hughes for.

Captain Fantastic – Steven Gerrard

Gerrard was a local lad who had always dreamed of playing for Liverpool F.C. since he was a child. He realized his dream and became one of their favorite sons. Recognized as one of the best midfield players ever, Gerrard wore the Liverpool captain’s armband with pride.

You could always count on Steven Gerrard to put in a captain’s performance no matter how well or badly the team was performing. He has scored some memorable goals for the club and will always be seen as a legend at Liverpool F.C.

Kevin Keegan

Thinking back to the great Liverpool teams of the 1970s the name Kevin Keegan will always come up. Keegan played for Liverpool from 1971 to 1977 and scored 100 goals from his 323 appearances in a red shirt.

He was not only a good goal scorer but possessed other skills which helped the team to glory. Kevin played many times for the English national team scoring goals there as well. Liverpool supporters with good memories will always be grateful for the contribution of Kevin Keegan.

Ian St John

Another famous Scottish footballer who made his mark at Liverpool F.C. is Ian St John. He joined the club in 1961 and played there for 10 years until 1971. He was a forward who scored 118 goals in 425 appearances for the reds.

Mohamed Salah

On to modern-day players now that have achieved legendary status at Liverpool F.C. A fan favorite at the club today is Mohamed Salah who continues to score goals and demonstrate his immense talents.

Salah was born in Egypt and joined Liverpool in 2017. Although many classify him as a midfield player, as of 2022 he had scored an incredible 170 goals in just 274 appearances. He continues to score goals today, and the Liverpool fans adore him.

Ian Rush

Many Liverpool fans will tell you that Ian Rush is the most legendary player to play for Liverpool F.C. He holds the record for the most goals scored for the club which is 346 in 660 appearances.

Rush had two spells at Liverpool. He first joined the club in 1980 and stayed until 1986. Then he returned in 1988 and played until 1996. A very skillful forward player who played for his country, Wales, many times.

Robbie Fowler

Liverpool is famous for bringing through young talented players from their academy. Perhaps the most famous of these players was Robbie Fowler. He played 369 times for the club and scored 183 goals.

Like Ian Rush, Fowler enjoyed two stints at Liverpool. He first started to play for the first team in 1993 as a 17-year-old and stayed until 2001. Fowler returned to his beloved Liverpool in 2006 before leaving in 2007.
