Liverpool fans hopeful of seeing more from Kieran Morrison this season are set to be disappointed, according to journalist Paul Gorst.Morrison has had a stellar season with the Reds’ U21s side, earning himself a first-team debut and a further appearance in the FA Cup.However, speaking to The Redmen TV, Gorst claims he would be surprised if the 19-year-old featured much more for Liverpool before the summer. “One for next season I’d guess, let’s see what he can do from the summer onwards. He’ll be one to keep an eye on for the summer, maybe he’ll just get the odd few minutes here and there, but I don’t see him playing too much of a role at this point.”Morrison could benefit from Salah exitAlexander Isak’s return will see Slot’s attacking options boosted, making it understandable if Morrison’s involvement starts to become more limited. However, once Salah goes this summer, there is an argument that the Northern Irish youngster should earn himself a promotion.
Who would you rather see as Liverpool’s manager next season? Photo Credit: Getty Images/Dan Mullan/UEFA/Peter Powell/AFP Obviously, nobody is expecting that he should come in and command a starting spot, but unless Liverpool sign someone, Morrison will be the only left-footer in the Reds attack. That offers him a way into the team, and if he can stand out across pre-season, then perhaps Slot will give him more opportunities in 2026/27.The expectation currently is that Liverpool will buy at least one winger this summer, and Morrison will surely be below whoever comes in in the pecking order. This could make a loan move possible next season, but Morrison has proven himself far too good for U21s level this season, and with Liverpool’s attacking options set to evolve, the teenager should really be a part of that.
