Liverpool have one of the best youth development plans in the Premier League, with the Reds enjoying plenty of success in recent years from nurturing certain talents.

Trent Alexander-Arnold emerged from the academy under Jurgen Klopp to become one of the best right-backs in the world and a player who has redefined the fullback position and the qualities a player in the role can possess.

And since Alexander-Arnold’s emergence from the academy, more players have made the leap from youth level to the senior team, with Curtis Jones a regular for Liverpool with the likes of Conor Bradley and James Morton knocking on the door.

As per the Guardian’s annual Next Generation list, Liverpool forward Rio Ngumoha has made the cut as one of the most exciting prospects in the Premier League, with the 16-year-old joined by the likes of Arsenal’s Jack Porter and Manchester United’s Amir Ibragimov.

The England youth international signed for the Reds this summer after opting to leave Chelsea in search of a new challenge elsewhere, with Liverpool beating United to the signing of Ngumoha in what was a pro-longed transfer battle.

With Chelsea legend John Terry sad to see Ngumoha leave Stamford Bridge, Liverpool have landed quite the talent on their hands in the 16-year-old, who has impressed this season at U-18 level and in the UEFA Youth League.

And Ngumoha’s talents have been recognised once more through his inclusion on the Next Generation list for 2024, with the young forward set for a big future at Liverpool if he can continue to shine at youth level.

An England youth international already and opting to leave Chelsea in search of bigger and better things, there’s a lot to be excited about for Liverpool fans when it comes to Ngumoha’s potential.

The 16-year-old attacker has shown this season with Liverpool’s U-18s that he has the potential to become a superstar in the future, with a move to the U-21s seemingly likely already in the coming months.

And with Liverpool a club that have prided themselves in promoting from the academy, Ngumoha can become the next big thing to come out of the youth system, with expectations high for the teenager.
