Liverpool could look into the free agent market this summer to help bolster the players available to Andoni Iraola, with several areas in need of reinforcements.Dusan Vlahovic is available as a free agent this summer(Image: (Photo by Nderim Kaceli/BSR Agency/Getty Images))Andoni Iraola has several key challenges to tackle over the coming Premier League season, with Liverpool's unbalanced roster of players clearly in need of a change.The Reds went through a turbulent campaign last time out, which ultimately cost Arne Slot his job, as the arrival of his successor is now bringing about fresh hope that the team can turn a corner and push towards the top once again.There are several concerns left in the inbox of the manager when he arrived at his desk at the AXA Training Centre on day one, ranging from implementing a new style of play to getting the most out of last summer's huge transfer splurge.Then there's cause for concern about the depth of players available at Liverpool, with a team currently thin on options set to enter a season where intensity is key.Considering those issues, and the worries there may be over fitness and injuries for the coming season, the Reds also need to be prudent when it comes to the club's finances.That means the recruitment team may not be able to throw another $100 million or more at options for the squad, and may instead need to rely on some smart signings to flesh out the rest of the team.So, with that said, here's a look at a few of the options on the free agent market who could well do a job for Liverpool in some capacity.Dusan Vlahovic (Striker)Dusan Vlahovic is available on a free transfer (Image: Valerio Pennicino/Getty Images)Apart from Mohamed Salah and perhaps Jadon Sancho, former Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic may well be the highest-profile player still unattached to a club this summer.The 26-year-old was unable to strike an agreement with the Bianconeri on a new contract, and could now join another club without them needing to pay a fee.Considering the injury issue for Hugo Ekitike and concerns over Alexander Isak's long-term fitness, adding a quality option like Vlahovic could only strengthen the team further moving forward.The Serbian international had a mixed time with Juventus, where he scored 68 goals in 168 games, but there were glimmers of quality in his displays.As a depth option, he could be ideal, though there may naturally be some concerns over the wage demands he may have, on top of how he may fit with Ekitike and Isak if all of them are fully fit and available.Regardless of that, someone will have a quality free agent on their hands this summer if they sign Vlahovic.Axel TuanzebeAxel Tuanzebe #4 of DR Congo during the team's training session ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026(Image: Getty)Defensive depth remains a problem for Liverpool, particularly with the way that the centre-back ranks have been built heading into this season.Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez are the only two regular senior options available, and with the latter one being a regular injury concern, there may be doubts over the depth at Iraola's disposal.There are two other options, with Jeremy Jacquet and Giovanni Leoni, but given how young the pair are, there's no guarantee how well they will settle into life in the Premier League.Therefore, a cheap centre-back option with some experience wouldn't go amiss, and while John Stones seems to be off to Inter Milan, another option could be Axel Tuanzebe.The 28-year-old is a free agent after leaving Burnley, and has shown plenty of basic defensive ability in stints for them and for Ipswich Town in the past few years.While he certainly wouldn't be a regular starter, the DR Congo international could provide some much-needed respite in the backline without taking up too much of the team's budget.Adam WebsterAdam Webster is a free agent this summer(Image: (Photo by David Watts/MI News/NurPhoto via Getty Images))Another centre-back option on the free agent market is Adam Webster, who left Brighton at the end of the most recent campaign.At 31, the defender has plenty of experience in the top flight, playing over 130 matches in the Premier League with some standout displays.While his influence with the Seagulls has slowly dwindled, he could prove to be another cheap depth option to help Liverpool get by before turning towards long-term solutions.
