The Reds also sit top of the pile in the Champions League, taking maximum points from their opening six matches in the League-Phase, whilst a Carabao Cup semi-final showdown with Tottenham Hotspur is just around the corner.

As we enter the new year, we have decided to stick our neck out on the line and give five bold Liverpool predictions that we believe have a distinct possibility of happening in 2025.

In what could be Mohamed Salah’s final season at the club, the Egyptian is in the form of his career.

Liverpool’s talisman has already racked up 30 goal contributions (17 goals, 13 assists) at the halfway stage of the Premier League season, a record he shares with former Red, Luis Suarez, from 2013-14.

Whilst Salah continues to remain at the peak of his powers, there is yet another record that he is on course to break.

Thierry Henry accumulated the most assists in a single Premier League season with 20, back in 2002-03, and Salah would only need another eight assists to break a record that hasn’t been broken in the twenty-two Premier League seasons since.

As it stands, if Salah continues in the same form, then he will smash his record of 44 goal contributions from his debut campaign at Liverpool and will be nearing 60 in all competitions.

Uncertainty around his long-term future remains, but we believe that Liverpool’s ‘Egyptian King’ will go on to break the Premier League assist record and be rewarded with a bumper new long-term deal in the process.

LIVERPOOL WILL END 2024-25 AWAY LEAGUE CAMPAIGN UNBEATEN

Away from Anfield, Liverpool are yet to suffer defeat in any competition this season.

Twelve wins and two draws from fourteen away matches is an unbelievable record that the Reds will hope to continue in the new year.

This has mainly been built on having a solid defensive unit that has conceded just fifteen goals on the road so far.

Having already played Tottenham, Arsenal, Newcastle United and Manchester United away, Liverpool know that they will still face difficult trips to Manchester City, Chelsea, Aston Villa, Nottingham Forest and Merseyside rivals, Everton when that meeting is rearranged.

It is certainly a tough task, but if the Reds can continue their defensive solidities on the road, then remaining unbeaten away is not out of the question for Arne Slot’s men.

There may still be a long way to go, but that doesn’t mean fans aren’t allowed to be excited about the current position that Liverpool find themselves in at the halfway stage in the season.

The Reds are in dreamland as they sit atop the Premier League and UEFA Champions League tables and the prospect of a double-winning season cannot be dismissed.

Liverpool and the Champions League are like a match made in heaven.

They have been a part of many historic nights, most notably the 2005 Final comeback against AC Milan and Anfield’s most famous night at home to Barcelona in 2019.

Liverpool’s last UEFA Champions League triumph came in 2019, almost six years ago and fans will be eager to end the wait for number seven as soon as possible.

As for the Premier League, the Reds have only lifted England’s main prize once, back in 2020, during lockdown, and this season, they are the clear favourites to win it again.

Celebrations of the title-win in 2020 had to be cut to a minimum due to never-seen-before circumstances, but if Liverpool do manage to bring the league title home, then supporters can celebrate in more familiar fashion.

This prediction is most likely the boldest of the lot, but a double in Arne Slot’s first season in charge, would be the ultimate dream.

As another incredible year of following the Reds comes to a close, we look forward to many more memories that can be created and hope that we’ll be adding a few more trophies to the cabinet in 2025.
