The Premier League title is almost won - but a big summer still lies ahead for Liverpool.

Arne Slot is now a maximum of six points away from securing his first piece of silverware in charge of the Reds, and they could be crowned champions as early as next weekend if Arsenal once again drops points.

Few could have predicted that Slot would be leading the club to the title so early in his tenure after taking over from Jurgen Klopp, and there can be no doubt that this has been a successful first season in charge of Liverpool.

Virgil van Dijk, who looks set to join Mohamed Salah in signing a new contract at Anfield, has already suggested that a “big” summer lies in wait in the transfer window.

Alexander Isak has been in sensational form for Newcastle this season - something Liverpool knows only too well after the defeat to the Magpies in the Carabao Cup final.

With 24 goals in 36 appearances this season, he is exactly the sort of deadly finisher Slot is looking for, and the thought of him playing alongside Salah next season would be a mouth-watering prospect for supporters.

He would be the dream signing, although the Reds may have to look elsewhere if they have other plans for the rest of the squad.

Julian Alvarez

An option that is very familiar to Liverpool, with the Reds having tried to sign Julian Alvarez last summer, only to find Manchester City less than compliant with their interest.

David has already shown what he can do at Anfield this season, and with 23 goals and 10 assists to his name in 44 appearances this season, he certainly shouldn't be dismissed as just the "cheap option."

Joao Pedro

One of the more intriguing names being linked with Liverpool this summer, Reds fans will already be familiar with Joao Pedro, who plies his trade in the Premier League with Brighton

With 10 goals and seven assists in 29 appearances, he probably wouldn't fill the "killer" criteria Slot might be looking for in a new striker.

Instead, Pedro might fit the Roberto Firmino mold of forward, bringing the likes of Salah and Cody Gakpo into the game in order for them to get the goals to fire Liverpool to success.

Whether that is still considered an option for the Reds nowadays, or if Slot's arrival means a new approach, remains to be seen.
