Abbey Clancy has revealed she is "really excited" to see her husband Peter Crouch return to Anfield this weekend. The former Liverpool striker joins the LFC Legends squad for a charity match in aid of LFC foundation. The legends are up against their Chelsea FC counterparts on Saturday, March 22.

The game kicks off at 3pm, when Crouch will join other Liverpool icons including Steven Gerrard and David James, as well as reuniting with Champions League hero Jerzy Dude to make up the team of Res legends for the annual charity match. In 2024, the Liverpool Legends produced a brilliant second-half fightback to beat Ajax 4-2 at Anfield.

In a recent episode of The Therapy Crouch podcast, Peter and Abbey spoke about the ex-footballer's return to Liverpool's home ground. A listener wrote into the podcast, as Crouch read out the question: "How excited are you to be back playing at Anfield this month, will the robot be making a comeback?"

Abbey said: "I'm actually really excited for it to be honest. My kids are going to get to see Pete play at Anfield, which obviously I had the pleasure to watch back in the day."

Peter added: "It's special to be going back. It's amazing to get the opportunity to go and play." The 39-year old Scouse model asked: "Is the pace going to be there or is it like going to watch a load of old men?"

Her husband joked: "I'll be honest with you it'll probably be like watching a load of old men." He added: "My little boy has never seen me play. He's starting to really love Liverpool, you know he's got all the kits and he's a fan, he's singing the songs."

Fans took to the comments following the conversation about Peter's return. One listener wrote: "Up the reds fingers crossed for a picture when I'm there." More added to the conversation: "Looking forward to watching you x" and "You guys are great-do the robot."

During his three years in Merseyside, Peter Crouch established himself as a Liverpool hero. He played his way into the public's hearts with his robot celebration. His 42 goals for the Reds during that time helped contribute towards an FA Cup triumph in 2006 under Rafa Benitez.

After leaving Liverpool in 2008, Crouch went on to have further goal-laden spells with the likes of Portsmouth, Tottenham and Stoke City before retiring in 2019 after a short stint with Burnley. In total, Crouch turned out for as many as 13 clubs, including three on loan, but it was his time at Anfield, as well as his exploits with England, that made him a household name across the country.

In an exclusive interview with the ECHO, Peter reflected on his time at LFC. He said: "For me to play for a club this size and to be remembered fondly by the fans who are so knowledgeable about football is a big honour for me.

"And when I come back here, the people around the city are just first class with me and remember what I achieved as a player. They remember me from being around the place and I've only got fond memories of the city in general."

On The Therapy Crouch podcast, Abbey and Peter talk about the ins and outs of their own relationship and also offer advice to listeners about their own concerns. Peter popped the question in 2009 before the couple tied the knot in June 2011 in a lavish ceremony with family, friends and fellow celebs. The couple have four children, Sophia Ruby, Liberty Rose, Johnny, and Jack.

They launched the podcast two years ago and have seen remarkable success from the relatable show. It has also seen Abbey launch her own podcast, Exhibit A, where she sits down with various professionals to discuss mental health, physical health and business.
