Trent Alexander-Arnold has been linked with Real Madrid for nearly a year, and a transfer looks set to finally happen this summer.
Despite securing Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk to new contracts, Liverpool have failed to achieve such a feat with the England international, with Alexander-Arnold expected to join Madrid as a free agent in the transfer window.
Although some Liverpool fans believe Alexander-Arnold could sign a new deal after recent developments with Salah and Van Dijk, all roads seem to lead towards the 26-year-old right-back joining Madrid at the end of the season.
And Fabrizio Romano has now shared some more light on if Alexander-Arnold will make a U-turn on joining Madrid to remain a Liverpool player.

Speaking on his official YouTube channel, the Italian journalist dismissed whispers that Alexander-Arnold’s transfer to Los Blancos could be off due to a potential change in manager, with the defender still on course to sign for the Spanish giants.
Romano said about rumours that Alexander-Arnold’s move to Madrid could now be off this summer: “This [Real Madrid’s manager situation], according to my information, is not having an impact on Trent Alexander-Arnold.
“The agreement between Alexander-Arnold and Real Madrid, which is yet to be completed in terms of signing the contract but verbally at the final stages, remains absolutely valid.
Trent didn’t negotiate for a specific coach, Trent negotiated with Real Madrid and the Real Madrid proposal was for Alexander-Arnold, not depending on the coach situation.

“Real Madrid absolutely want to complete a deal with Alexander-Arnold and trust Alexander-Arnold as a really important signing for the summer transfer window, that remains the case.”
Liverpool fans can be forgiven for having renewed belief that Alexander-Arnold could remain at Anfield beyond this season after recent news on Salah and Van Dijk’s new contracts with the Reds after months of speculation.
Yet with Madrid putting in nearly a years worth of work to secure Alexander-Arnold’s signature and the final details being ironed out, the defender making a dramatic turnaround to remain with Liverpool looks next to impossible.
Indeed, Alexander-Arnold staying at Liverpool would have been a dream come true for supporters, but as much as fans want it to happen, such a reality belongs to the realm of fantasy heading into the summer transfer window.
