Milos Kerkez is a player who is firmly on the radar of Liverpool ahead of the summer transfer window.
Since joining Bournemouth from AZ Alkmaar in 2023 for £15 million, Kerkez has rapidly adapted to the demands of English football.
His dynamic style—marked by aggressive defending, overlapping runs, and a relentless work rate—has made him a standout in the division.
As a result, the Reds are seriously examining the prospect of bringing the left-back to the club, with Paul Joyce also confirming Liverpool’s interest this week.
It is firmly believed that Arne Slot and co.
will look to overhaul the left-back position in the summer.
Andy Robertson, 31, has shown signs of decline amid injury struggles this season, while deputy Kostas Tsimikas, 29, lacks the consistency to be a permanent successor.
Kerkez’s youth, Premier League experience and stylistic similarity to Robertson make him an ideal candidate to transition into the role.
“A lot can happen in football, but it’s pointless to predict,” Kerkez said about Liverpool while speaking to Nemzeti Sport.
When pressed on whether he could see himself and Szoboszlai at Liverpool together, he gave a measured answer.
“It wouldn’t look bad, that’s for sure.
But it’s too early to talk about something like that.”
“I have big goals with Bournemouth, we still have a lot of games to win, that’s the most important thing right now.”
What was said on Milos Kerkez and Liverpool?
Anfield Watch recently spoke to Richard Henczi about the possibility of Kerkez making the jump to Liverpool.
Henczi is a Hungarian agent and former youth football coach.
He notably coached Milos Kerkez during his early days in Hungary at Gyor.
And he believes the potential of the Cherries defender would make him a great option for the Anfield side:
“I think he’s ready to go to a higher level club [than Bournemouth],” said Henczi.
“If he wants to go to Liverpool, he will go to Liverpool,” he said.
“I mean he has everything [to be one of the best left-backs]?
I think he can’t be in the top five left-backs around the world if he plays at a smaller club.”
“So it depends on his next transfer – how many minutes will he play there and how well will he play there?”
Henczi then explained other factors like European competition, something Liverpool can boast:
“[Do they] play in the UEFA Champions League or just the Europa League and you know, these kinds of decisions.”
“If he gets the chance, I think he has everything to be in the top five or ten left-backs in the world.”
Interestingly, the reported Liverpool target joined the same agency as Federico Chiesa earlier this year – Fali Ramadani’s Lian Sports Group.
The agency has significant experience dealing with Premier League clubs, being ranked as the 12th most influential agency worldwide in 2019 and among the top five solely dedicated to football.
