But Alan Shearer has still jokingly shrugged off the Egyptian's latest record.
The last few weeks have been the only point of the season when Salah has given anybody a chance to criticize him, and the usual jackals have jumped right on it.
But he has already secured a record-breaking Premier League campaign in numerous different ways, and it could get even better.
A new deal at Anfield will give Salah the chance to target a number of all-time records — the ultimate goal of surpassing Shearer's own tally is probably still tantalizingly out of reach, but there are many other significant milestones in his sights.
Salah bagged another against West Ham, moving up to 18 for the season — he needs just three more to overtake the benchmark set by Thierry Henry, and later matched by Kevin De Bruyne.
Given these impressive tallies in both the goal and assist columns, it should come as little surprise that Salah has now claimed the outright record for the most goal contributions in a 38-game Premier League season (45).
"I can't tell you how many assists I got!"
Perhaps Shearer would be a little more interested if he were to learn that he still holds the overall record for the most goal contributions in a Premier League season (jointly with Andy Cole), having hit 47 in 1994/95.
And in fairness, the Newcastle legend did acknowledge that Salah is a "standout" for Liverpool.
He's also admitted previously that he believes his all-time record of 260 Premier League goals could come under threat from Salah
"He's an incredible talent, he'll definitely have a chance the way he's been, the way he is and the way Liverpool are going."
Salah currently sits joint-fifth in the all-time Premier League scoring charts, needing one more to overtake Sergio Aguero as the highest-scoring overseas player ever
