Newcastle United icon Alan Shearer has made a confident forecast that his former club will triumph over Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday.

Now, he's rooting for the current squad to achieve what he couldn't - insisting that the club "deserves" some silverware.
"I've seen the reaction when we haven't won a final and it was amazing, the fans lined the streets after we lost the 1998 FA Cup final," he added
"You can only imagine what it will be like if this club wins something.
