Alan Shearer has declared Harry Kane would be a “great option” for Liverpool after the Bayern Munich striker was sensationally linked with a move to Anfield.
Liverpool is likely to be in the market for a new forward this summer regardless of whether or not Mohamed Salah signs a new contract, with Arne Slot clearly needing an upgrade on some of his No.9 options.
The England captain has been linked with a move back to the Premier League, with Spanish outlet El Nacional even going as far as suggesting Liverpool is the favorite for his signature.
Kane himself has already addressed reports that he has a release clause in his contract at Bayern which could make a return to England easier.
Now, Shearer - the only player to sit ahead of Kane on the all-time list of the Premier League’s top scorers - has now had his say, and feels the former Tottenham man could be perfect for Liverpool.
“Harry Kane is a machine and he'll always score goals,” Shearer told Betfair.

“Liverpool will be looking for a centre-forward in the summer, I don't doubt that and Harry Kane would be a great option for them because of the size of the club and he'll score goals.
“Whether Harry decides to stay in Germany or he decides to come back to the Premier League, he'll have options.”
Should Kane make a return to England, whether it is at Liverpool or elsewhere, he would have his sights set on breaking Shearer’s scoring record - something that the former Newcastle man isn’t too concerned about.
