Highly sought-after striker Alexander Isak has spoken about his ambition amid interest from Liverpool.

Isak is one of the most discussed players in the world currently given his electrifying form for Newcastle United.

The Swedish striker’s has scored 21 goals and five assists in 30 appearances this season.



Isak’s goal-scoring feat is helping Newcastle towards a top four push and his contribution has placed him at the centre of a predicted multi-club tug-of-war in the summer.

For Liverpool, the interest appears rooted in Arne Slot’s reported desire to overhaul the No.9 position amid Darwin Nunez’s inconsistencies and Diogo Jota’s injury struggles.

A recent report from TEAMtalk suggests the Reds are considering creative financial solutions to bypass Newcastle’s £100m-£150m valuation.

The proposed transfer seems to hinge on whether Darwin Nunez makes a move to the Saudi Pro League in the summer – with Al Nassr offering in excess of £70m in the January transfer window.

The Magpies’ stance remains firm in that Champions League qualification would likely secure Isak’s stay at St James’ Park.

Newcastle have slapped a £150m price tag on him  to show they are interested in letting him leave.

Alexander Isak makes admission about his future

Isak himself has spoken about his future, claiming that his immediate concern is playing football at the highest level.

He told Prime Video Svergie (via Chroniclelive): “Playing football at this level has always been a dream and probably the main dream that I’ve had.

Playing in the Premier League for a club like Newcastle with a fan base like they have here is extra special.”

Newcastle manager Eddie Howe has reiterated the position that the club are unwilling to sell their star, adding:

“There’s no part of me or anyone at Newcastle that wants to let Alex go.
