Exciting times at Liverpool are presenting opportunities for their stars both on and off the field of play.

This is regularly a sign of title winners, and as they remain hopeful of Champions League and League Cup glory too, the season is going mightily fine.

Once on top, staying there is important and the best teams will capitalise in the transfer market.

Ahead of the January window opening on New Years' Day, Liverpool are being tied to some enticing rumours across the continent.

With that the state of play, the ECHO brings to you the very latest Liverpool news and transfer rumours this Saturday.

'Macca' became Mac Allister's nickname in the weeks after he joined Liverpool in June 2023.

The Argentine revealed Jurgen Klopp had suggested 'Gary' - a reference to similarly-named former Red Gary McAllister - but that was rejected in favour of the one that has stuck.

Liverpool are one of the teams that have been linked to Dani Olmo - both before and after he joined Barcelona in the summer.

It has been said he will be released from his contract due to a clause if Barca are unable to register him as their player beyond December 31.

This opportunity of a high-calibre free signing is said to have alerted the Reds and other teams ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

Premier League title rivals are included in that, with El Nacional claiming Arsenal and Manchester City are the first clubs to send formal financial proposals to the attacking midfielder.
