Alexis Mac Allister has issued a message to Liverpool supporters after the 'tough' draw with Aston Villa.

The Reds were forced to settle for a point in their stalemate in the Premier League clash at Villa Park.

Liverpool were held to a 2-2 draw against Villa, with Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold on the scoresheet.



However, goals from Youri Tielemans and Ollie Watkins meant that the Reds dropped two points in the title race against rivals Arsenal but are now eight points clear at the top of the table.

The game against Villa was rearranged for midweek due to Liverpool's participation in next month's Carabao Cup final.

It means that the Reds have now played a game more than Arsenal going into another weekend of Premier League action.

After the final whistle, Mac Allister took the opportunity to send a message to Liverpool fans.

The Argentina international referenced the 'tough' difficulty of the clash against Villa with his message to supporters on social media.

"Tough battle out there.

City are 17 points behind the Reds in the league table, with Arne Slot's side now having played one game more.

Slot will be forced to go into the game with some injury concerns in his squad.
