Alexis Mac Allister has responded to the Real Madrid links that have emerged since the January transfer window.

Real Madrid are reportedly looking to revamp their midfield following Toni Kroos’s retirement last summer and the potential departure of Luka Modric.

The Spanish giants have identified Mac Allister as an ideal replacement who could bring the creativity and control they’ve been missing this season.

Despite the speculation, Mac Allister’s father, Carlos Mac Allister, downplayed the rumours.

Spanish journalist Jose Felix Diaz has intensified speculation around Real Madrid’s summer transfer plans by stating that Carlo Ancelotti’s side are highly interested in Liverpool’s Alexis Mac Allister, even preferring him over former target Martin Zubimendi.

According to Diaz, Madrid “love” Mac Allister’s profile and have shifted their focus away from Zubimendi, who had previously been linked as a midfield solution for Los Blancos.

Liverpool is expected to demand a significant fee, especially given Mac Allister’s importance to their squad and his long-term contract running until 2028.

Real Madrid may consider including young Turkish midfielder Arda Güler as part of a potential deal to help facilitate negotiations, but Liverpool’s strong position and the player’s key role mean any agreement will be complex and costly.

Luckily for Reds fans, it seems that Liverpool’s No.10 is not even thinking of a transfer away.

Speaking to Argentinian journalist Gaston Edul for TyC Sports, the World Cup winner affirmed that he is only focusing on Liverpool amid the speculation:

“I read the rumours and the news reaches me, but the important thing is the present.

No matter how much the club loves me, if I play poorly this weekend, they’ll lose interest,” he said.

“I’m fine at Liverpool and I don’t have any need.

So, I have a lot of respect for the club, and I don’t think it’s necessary to talk about other clubs.”

He also revealed a bit about how he is finding living in Cheshire on the same block as Andy Robertson and Joe Gomez:

“I’m a little far away, so some fans greet you with respect, but in the city, they are more passionate.

One phrase sums it all up: You’ll never walk alone,” he added.

The Argentine midfielder has been one of the club’s key figures this season, having 46 times in all competitions for Liverpool this season, scoring six times and registering five assists.
