Alexis Mac Allister’s father, Carlos, has again shut down the possibility of the midfielder leaving Liverpool in the near future after dismissing reports linking the World Cup winner with Real Madrid.

The midfielder has been a star performer for the Reds since joining from Brighton & Hove Albion in a £35m deal in the summer of 2023.

The 26-year-old looks set to win the Premier League this season, with Liverpool only needing six more points from their remaining six games to be crowned champions.

And it was his assist that led to Virgil van Dijk’s winner against West Ham United last weekend as Arne Slot’s men moved within touching distance of winning the title.

Mac Allister Snr insisted last week that his son was happy at Liverpool.

“He hopes to win the Premier League title this season, and then enjoy a vacation he did not get last year.

"It is important that we respect the institution he plays for, so any comments from us would be superfluous.

“He is under contract with Liverpool until 2028.

He is happy at the club and we hope he continues there."

Mac Allister Snr previously dismissed the possibility of his son leaving Liverpool in the near future when speaking to Fernando Niembro on Picado TV, as quoted by Bolavip, in an interview earlier this month.

“For now, I don't think so.

Time will tell,” he said when asked if Mac Allister could leave Liverpool.

I think it's been the best thing he's had, and that's why the adaptation was easier.”

Mac Allister has made 91 appearances for Liverpool to date, returning 13 goals and 12 assists.
