Alan Shearer has warned Andy Robertson he faces a stark choice over his Liverpool future this summer.

Arne Slot's men are on their way to clinching the Premier League title and the Dutchman is expected to be more active in the summer transfer market after essentially just going with Jurgen Klopp's team with great success this campaign.

The Anfield club have been heavily linked with Bournemouth left back Milos Kerkez and with Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas already on the books, it looks like something will have to give.

Robertson has been a stalwart for the Merseyside outfit since arriving from Hull City in 2017.

However, with Robbo now 31 and his current Liverpool contract due to expire in summer 2026, it could be decision time.

If Robertson is no longer going to be first choice and potentially with a World Cup Finals to come, moving on may have be something he considers, according to Shearer.

If he's determined to stay, then he'll have work to do.

Shearer told Betfair: "Every player has a shelf-life, whether that be at a club or your career in general.

"Whether Liverpool think Andy Robertson needs replacing, the reports sound like they do need and want a left-back for next season so it wouldn't surprise me if they do sign one.

Whether that's Milos Kerkez or someone else.

"You have a decision to make as a player where you either roll your sleeves up and give someone great competition or you accept decisions and say that your time is done.

Only Andy will know that."
