It’s been a positive week around Liverpool.

There’s a strong feeling at the club right now – on and off the pitch.

As the title race tightens, small moments of good news make a big difference.

And when that news involves one of the team’s most important players committing his future to the club, the mood shifts even more.

For Liverpool players, these kinds of moments boost morale.

The dressing room feels it.

It’s about what it means for the present and future of the club.

That confidence will now carry into Sunday’s game, where Liverpool aim to keep their strong run going.

After Mo Salah signed a new deal, Andy Robertson spoke to the media about the impact it has had on the team.

He also looked ahead to the West Ham United clash.

What did Andy Robertson say about the West Ham United clash and Mohamed Salah contract news?

“Obviously delighted,” Robertson said as per Liverpoolfc.com.

“A massive player, a massive personality within our changing room, has been crucial to what we’ve done this season and many seasons before that.”

Salah’s new contract was announced on Friday.

The Egyptian, who joined in 2017, is now locked in for even longer.

“The fact he’s signing a new deal is pleasing for everyone in the club?

I think everyone will be happy with it, no more so than Mo.”

“I’ve just walked by him there and he has a big smile on his face.”

“Hopefully that can continue,” Robertson added.

Robertson also highlighted Salah’s importance on the pitch.

“He’s massively important.”

“He’s our main man, he’s our talisman [with] the most goals, the most assists.”

“He’s the most creative player for us on the park this season especially.”

“His standards have been really high this season,” he said.

“For us as a team, he’s our key man, he’s our main man and it’s important to keep hold of these players when you have them, especially when you’re at a big club like Liverpool,” he continued.

“For the team it’s massive, of course it is, and we’re delighted that Mo will be here for the upcoming seasons playing that position and hopefully producing numbers like he has done this season.”

Looking ahead to Sunday’s match, Robertson made it clear Liverpool aren’t underestimating the Hammers, despite beating them twice already this season.

“I think we’re always confident that we can get the three points in any game.”

“But I don’t think the previous game has any bearing on this game,” he said.

“[There is] a new manager, a new look, a new way of playing for West Ham,” he added.

“We always look to go into games and get the three points, especially when we’re at home in front of our home crowd.”

“They obviously got a decent draw last week with changing things in the second half and being able to turn the game around,” Robertson said.

“Their confidence will be there and we know the threats they carry.”

“We know they’re a good team and we need to be at our best to get the three points that we really need.”
