Liverpool players are lapping up being the toast of England on Monday after claiming another Premier League title.

The Reds blew Tottenham Hotspur away on Sunday to crown themselves as champions for the second time in six years.

The win over Spurs sparked scenes of wild celebration at Anfield as Liverpool fans did what they could not do in 2020 and rejoiced with their heroes.

From Mohamed Salah to Wataru Endo, every Liverpool player was hailed by all four corners of the stadium as fans thanked them for their efforts this season.

Although Salah has been the standout performer, it has been a real team effort from the Reds as they breezed to a 20th league title.

And after being asked to highlight some ‘unsung heroes’ within the Liverpool squad, Andy Robertson picked out three under-used players for a special mention.

Everyone knows the key architects behind this Liverpool title win.

Some players have really stood up tall.

But speaking to Stadium Astro after full-time on Sunday, Robertson also pointed out that players such as Endo, Harvey Elliott and Jarell Quansah were just as deserving champions.

MORE LIVERPOOL STORIES

“I think all the people in the background have been working tirelessly, the physios, the masseurs, the doctors, the kitchen staff,” said the Scotland captain.

“But if you have to focus on players then it’s the lads that train so hard week in week out without maybe getting the rewards at the weekend.

We’ve got a few players like that that probably would have wanted to play more this season that have been frustrated at times and have wanted a bit more game time.”

“But without the fact that they push the lads that start most of the games we wouldn’t be here.

It’s a real collective performance and we’ve all contributed this season and that’s why we’ll all party together.”

Robertson is right to pick out these three players as ones who could be frustrated with their lack of game time this season.

Between them, Endo, Elliott and Quansah have made just two starts – both for Quansah – in the Premier League all year.

Inevitably, this has led to speculation that all three could leave.

Elliott is reportedly being eyed by Bournemouth, while there have been rumours that Newcastle could come in for Quansah.

Endo has been linked with a return to the Bundesliga, meanwhile, as he prepares for a crucial summer in his Liverpool career.

As Robertson alludes to, though, Liverpool should be cautious about letting squad players go.

They may not take anything away from the starting XI, but a lack of depth has often been the reason why Liverpool have not challenged for further Premier League titles.
