Liverpool travel to London on Sunday to face Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham in the Premier League, following their qualification for the League Cup semi-finals.
Tottenham secured a dramatic 4-3 victory over Manchester United in the League Cup to book their place in the semi-finals, where they will face Arne Slot’s Liverpool over two legs.
Earlier today, Slot spoke to the media ahead of Sunday’s Premier League match at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
He praised Postecoglou’s side, describing their style of play as “a privilege” to watch.
Slot went on to express his admiration for the Australian’s work since his arrival at Tottenham, highlighting the team’s strong performances.
In return, Postecoglou also spoke highly of Slot and Liverpool during his pre-match press conference.
He said, “We’ll play our football because that’s what’s winning us games, and that’s what we’ll do against Liverpool, who are a fantastic side.”
On Slot, Postecoglou added, “Arne’s come in, and it’s not easy when you’re taking over from someone with the status of a Jurgen Klopp, but they’re very settled as a team.”
“They’ve got quality in their starting eleven and squad,” he continued.
“They are the standout team in the competition so far, but on our day, when we play our football, we are a pretty good opposition.”
Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham side has shown signs of inconsistency this season.
They beat a struggling Manchester City 4-0 at the Etihad but then dropped points against Fulham, Bournemouth, and Chelsea.
Spur’s returned to winning ways against Southampton with a 5-0 at St Mary’s, before knocking Manchester United out of the League Cup.
Arne Slot will be hoping to return to winning ways in the Premier League after drawing 2-2 at Fulham, despite being reduced to 10 men.
