Liverpool may potentially have to pay more if they want to sign midfielder target Angelo Stiller.
Liverpool are said to be one of the clubs interested in the player.
The Reds have their eyes on a midfield signing this summer, and recent reports from Germany claim that they are watching Stiller.
Chief BILD reporter Christian Falk asserted that Stuttgart’s Angelo Stiller has caught the attention of Liverpool.
“It’s true: Liverpool are interested in Angelo Stiller,” the head of football at the BILD Group said.
“Stiller has a release clause in his contract – valued at €36m – which comes into play in 2026.”
“We heard about interest from Liverpool, so they are watching him.
It would be possible to get him in 2026.”
Stuttgart signed Stiller in the summer of 2023 after his impressive displays for Hoffenheim.
Last season he helped the Bundesliga side finish second in Bundesliga, ahead of his former side Bayern Munich.
He has continued in his rich vein of form this season for the south west side, registering five assists and one goal in 25 games for them.
His performances have not gone unnoticed, and Bayern Munich and Liverpool are reportedly showing interest in him.
Stiller has a release clause in his contract – valued at €36m – which comes into play in 2026, making a potential deal for him something that is not too expensive.
However, a fresh report claims that his transfer fee could be much more if Stuttgart succeed in their plans.
This is according to German broadcaster Sky Deutschland (via Insidefootball), who claim that the Bundesliga outfit have negotiated an option in Stiller’s contract that will give them an opportunity to buy out the Liverpool target’s exit clause for €2m.
The 23-year-old has to agree with Stuttgart before they can buy out the release clause, though.
But it offers the club a golden opportunity to get rid of the clause.
Stiller has established himself as one of the Bundesliga’s standout midfielders since joining Stuttgart from Hoffenheim in 2023.
While Ryan Gravenberch and Alexis Mac Allister have excelled this season, concerns remain about squad depth and long-term planning for key positions.
Interestingly, he seems to have a similar profile to that of Martin Zubimendi, with Arne Slot making no secret of his appreciation for the Spaniard.
