Arne Slot believes there remains plenty of room for improvement from Liverpool despite his team standing on the brink of a remarkable Premier League title triumph.
The Reds will claim a record-equalling 20th championship if they avoid defeat at home to Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday afternoon.
Slot is set to become the first Dutchman to helm a title-winning team in England and be only the fifth boss to win the Premier League in their first season in the dugout in the country.
Liverpool, who have lost only twice in the top flight this season, currently stand 12 points clear of second-placed Arsenal with a game in hand and, with 79 points from 33 games, have only twice before earned more points at this stage of a campaign.

But Slot is convinced there is scope for Liverpool to move on to another level in the coming years.
"Yeah, yeah, definitely but I have always said that as a manager everywhere around the world everyone wants to achieve perfection," he said.
"That will probably never work out, but even in the last few weeks we are still trying to get better in certain things and keeping the standards as high as we had them for the whole season.
"We are so close maybe in some parts of the season or in some games (to perfection) but in other moments we have to do much better."
Slot has taken Liverpool to the verge of the championship with a squad almost entirely consisting of players he inherited from Jurgen Klopp when replacing the former Reds boss last summer.
Federico Chiesa, the only new signing last summer, has made just four brief substitute appearances in the Premier League this season.
Liverpool are expected to reinforce their personnel during the forthcoming transfer window.
The left-back and centre-forward positions are among those being assessed while goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili is already on his way from Valencia.
And asked how close his team are to his vision, Slot said: "Parts of the season we were maybe quite close to that or phases in a game.
"But in general every manager that works at a top club wants to have control of a game, every single minute of the game but that is hardly possible in this league.

"There were phases also during the season or during games where we didn’t have that control, so I think we can do and we have to become even better than we are now - and we can.
"That is definitely my opinion but I also know out of experience that you cannot play 38 games at this level, so it will always be a bit like this.
"The positive thing from us this season is that we never went down a lot, even if we didn’t have the control I would like to.
