Arne Slot has revealed what he likes seeing from Mohamed Salah on his Instagram page.
As Liverpool prepare to host Newcastle United at Anfield on Wednesday, Mohamed Salah’s record-shattering 2024/25 Premier League season has become the defining narrative of their title pursuit.
The Egyptian forward, now in potentially his final months at the club, has produced career-best numbers that place him among football’s all-time greats.
Salah has elevated his game to unprecedented heights, becoming the first player in Premier League history to record 40+ goal contributions (25 goals, 16 assists) in two separate seasons.
His strike against Manchester City on Sunday moved him level with Gordon Hodgson as Liverpool’s third-highest scorer (241 goals), while his 182 Premier League goals rank sixth all-time—just five behind Manchester United icon Andy Cole.
Now Arne Slot has revealed what he likes seeing on Mohamed Salah’s Instagram page.
What did Arne Slot say about Mohamed Salah?
Speaking in his pre-Newcastle United press conference, Arne Slot revealed that he has seen a few on the Egyptian Instagram stories – which often show the 32-year-old putting in the work at home to maintain his physical prowess:
“Comes in early and works so hard on his body, I see him on Instagram and he’s working at home,” Slot said.
“He’s found the balance to get the best out of himself which comes from experience.
But he’s not everyone – all the people in this building, the players and staff as well.”
The Reds boss was also quizzed about his thoughts on his starman being firmly in the conversation for the Ballon d’Or, with Slot aware that the team needs to win silverware before anything like that can happen:
It’s mostly about attackers but the last winner was a midfielder.
Good thing Mo is in discussion as that means he is doing well and that means we are doing well,” he explained.
“In general someone who wins the Ballon d’Or needs to win something as well.
What I liked a lot is that he took this challenge with a big goal and assist v City but the defensive work-rate in the second half was particularly outstanding.
“If we as a team win something he has a far better chance to win the Ballon d’Or.”
“It would make his chance only bigger (if we win the Champions League) but the last one who won it didn’t.”
“It’s not just about the amount of prizes you win, but most of the ones who won the league or Champions League.
