The Liverpool boss accepts that pundits can have an opinion on whether the standard of the top-flight in England has fallen during a season which has seen his team turn the title race into a procession.
But the Dutchman is adamant that after a week which saw second-placed Arsenal knock European champions Real Madrid out of the Champions League and Aston Villa push Paris-Saint Germain to their limits, the Premier League remains the best in the world.
Liverpool could be crowned champions when they travel to Leicester - and Slot said: “The nice part of a pundit’s job is that you can write about something in two ways - positive or negative.
“If everyone had the same opinion, it would be quite boring.
But Arsenal don’t have to win the Champions League just for us all to be sure that the Premier League is by far the best league and the most difficult league in the world.
“I don’t even think anyone can even debate that.
That could be an example of saying ‘yes, the Premier League is really good at the moment.’

“You can look at things whichever way you want.
Wolves at home, even Southampton at home, Plymouth away, who are not even at Premier League level.
“ West Ham, I don't know where they are in the league at the moment, but they have players who could play for us.
You only see this in the Premier League and that's why it's such a popular league.
"And that's why people pay so much money through broadcasters - and that's why we can bring so many good players in.”
