Arne Slot has given his side a day off just 48 hours before the Reds travel to the Etihad Stadium to face Manchester City in the Premier League.
Slot hosted his pre-match press conference on a Thursday this week, in order to give his players the Friday off to rest ahead of the game.
Last month, Slot said: "If possible, we always prefer to have them off three days before a game, it’s not always possible, but we try.”
This recovery plan seems to be working as this approach was also in place before Liverpool’s game against Man City on December 1, where the Reds emerged 2-0 winners just four days after defeating Real Madrid at Anfield.
Back in October, Arne Slot was asked on Sky Sports if he had introduced any new rules at Liverpool, to which he responded: "Maybe we’ve implemented one or two, but if you ask me which ones, I don’t even know which they are."
“There was a real good culture of players being on time, so I hate if we have to talk about fines and all these kinds of things for players being too late – it’s normal that you are on time

Because of this new approach, the Reds have managed to so far avoid an injury crisis which in part is thanks to the head of physical performance Ruben Peeters.
Peeters, a specialist in periodization, played a crucial role in managing player workload while working with Slot at Feyenoord
