Arne Slot will be straight back in front the media this morning as he holds a press conference to preview his Liverpool side's massive Premier League match at Manchester City.

The Reds boss only spoke to members of the press around 12 hours ago.

That came in the bowels of Villa Park after his table-toppers were forced to settle for a 2-2 draw with Aston Villa.



That result has moved Liverpool eight points clear of second-placed Arsenal, who do now have a game in hand, which comes at home to West Ham United on Saturday.

The Reds will then travel to the Etihad Stadium on Sunday to take on the faltering defending champions, whose extremely difficult season took a turn for the worse last night when they were unceremoniously dumped out of the Champions League by a Kylian Mbappe-inspired Real Madrid.

Already effectively without Erling Haaland, who remained on the bench after injuring his knee at the weekend, City's woes worsened when John Stones was forced off.

However, Liverpool have injury problems of their own, with Conor Bradley set for a spell on the sidelines after he limped off late on against Villa.

Slot is expected to give injury updates on Bradley, as well as Cody Gakpo and Joe Gomez, this morning at the AXA Training Centre.

The Dutchman could also be questioned about the Reds' recent form.

By their own incredibly high standards, the title favourites are having a minor blip, winning just one of their last three league matches, albeit remaining unbeaten in that time, after suffering a shock FA Cup exit.
