Gomez had previously been replaced in a 5-0 Premier League win over West Ham United in the final match of 2024.
The center-back underwent surgery to address the issue and Slot has repeatedly said he expects to see the player back before the end of the campaign.
But with the season set to finish in a month and Gomez not yet back in team training, that looks increasingly less likely.
Slot hasn’t spoken about Gomez’s situation for several weeks but was asked ahead of the potentially title-defining game against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
“If his recovery goes well he would be able to maybe [play] in one or two of the last games of the season but he is still not training with us yet,” said the Liverpool head coach.
“He is coming closer and closer to training with the team but then he has been out for while.
I think he will be available in the last two or three games if his recovery goes the way as planned.”
Gomez is the only injury at present with Bradely and Trent Alexander-Arnold recently recovering from injuries.
Slot said last week that the Northern Ireland international is not yet ready to play 90 minutes but, after playing in the last three games, could be ready to complete the match on Sunday.
“That depends on the upcoming two sessions,” Slot explained
“He is getting closer and closer to 90, the first and second were around the same amount of minutes and if you have played twice around 70 it is normal you get closer to the 90
