Reports from Portugal this week asserted that Liverpol have a €5 million (£4.3m) decision regarding Darwin Nunez’s playing time amid reports the striker is one Premier League start away from triggering a payment clause to former club Benfica.
The Uruguayan, who joined in 2022 for an initial £64m rising to £85m via add-ons, has made 49 league starts—one short of activating a reported €5m milestone in his transfer agreement.
It is believed that Benfica have already received €10m (£8.6m) of the prospective add-ons from Liverpool, with those clauses triggered when he reached specific appearance milestones in the Premier League and Champions League.
Portuguese outlet A Bola claims Liverpool could avoid starting the 25-year-old to not have to make the payment.
