Liverpool forward Darwin Nunez missed a guilt-edge chance against Aston Villa(Image: Getty Images)
Arne Slot cut a frustrated figure after Darwin Nunez missed a guilt-edge chance to give Liverpool the lead against Aston Villa.
Nunez, 25, was introduced in the 66th minute at Villa Park as the Reds tried to score a winner after Trent Alexander-Arnold had pulled them back level.
However, shortly after coming on, Nunez squandered an excellent opportunity to put Slot's side in front.
Dominik Szoboszlai ran through on goal and instead of shooting himself, he decided to unselfishly square the ball across the box for Nunez, who had an open net to aim at with Emiliano Martinez nowhere to be seen, but the forward somehow ballooned over the crossbar.
Axel Disasi did well to close down Nunez, but the Liverpool man should have scored.
The Dutchman was pictured with his head in his hands and annoyed after Nunez failed to put Liverpool back ahead.

It wasn't the only piece of play from Nunez that frustrated the Liverpool fans.
Later in the second half, Nunez had a chance to shoot from the edge of the box, but instead tried to pass to Szoboszlai but his delivery was too heavy and rolled behind for a goal-kick.
Liverpool pushed and pushed as the half wore on but couldn't find a way through and had to settle for a 2-2 draw in an entertaining affair against Villa.
It's a result that moves them eight points clear at the top of the Premier League, though the Reds have played a game more than second-place Arsenal.
Having started the game in control, Liverpool took the lead in the 29th minute - and it was that man Salah who scored once again.
While Nunez and Szoboszlai missed opportunities to give Liverpool the win, Villa could have won it at the other end - with Donyell Malen inches away from scoring late on.
