Arne Slot has hailed Curtis Jones after he overcame early-season injury setbacks and is now firmly in contention to be a name in Liverpool’s best XI,

Jones faced a challenging start to the season, suffering a minor muscular injury during a pre-season match against Real Betis in Pittsburgh.

This setback limited his participation in the opening fixtures, with his initial starts confined to an EFL Cup match against West Ham, where he provided an assist in a 5-1 victory.

But after fighting for his spot in the starting line-up once again, he started against Chelsea and led the charge with a goal and an assist.

Curtis Jones adeptly evaded the offside trap, slotting the ball into the corner past Robert Sánchez, capping a commanding midfield display to give the Reds a 2-1 win.

Continuing his impressive form, Jones played a vital role in Liverpool’s 4-0 triumph over Bayer Leverkusen in the UEFA Champions League.

He provided a key assist for Luis Díaz’s opening goal.

Under the guidance of new manager Arne Slot, Jones has thrived in a system that wants less rock and roll and more ball control.
