Arne Slot has remained tight-lipped on rumors suggesting Darwin Nunez could be leaving Liverpool.

The striker was reportedly a target for Saudi Pro League clubs in January, with claims that Al-Nassr were in discussions about a potential move for the Uruguayan.

However, they shifted their focus to sign Jhon Duran from Aston Villa in a $81 million deal after being told Nunez was not up for transfer.



Despite his difficulties in front of goal, scoring only six times this season and facing harsh criticism for missing an open goal in Liverpool's 2-2 draw with Aston Villa midweek, Slot defended the forward but criticized his reaction to the missed opportunity.

Slot revealed on Thursday that he plans to talk to Nunez about his behaviour during the Aston Villa match.

While he didn't comment on the player's future ahead of Sunday's game against Man City, the Dutchman did say he expects a different response from the Uruguayan in the future.

"We don't talk about these things in public," Slot stated on inquiries about Nunez's transfer speculation.

The Liverpool boss also touched on the swirling rumors about other players' futures at Anfield, as the likes of Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk are reportedly coveted by Saudi Pro League clubs as their contracts wind down.

He conceded though that it is too early to say how things will pan out when Giorgi Mamardashvili arrives from Valencia.
