Jurgen Klopp famously isn't the biggest fan of international breaks and the disruption they bring, but for Arne Slot, it's a different tale in the Liverpool hot seat.
While Klopp had his fair share of grievances with the impact of international duty on his squad — case and point, Harvey Elliott’s extended absence after picking up an injury playing for England U21s, or the post-international fatigue leading to a rare defeat against Nottingham Forest — Slot takes a more glass-half-full view.
He’s been vocal about appreciating the extra playing time it affords Liverpool's squad players with their national teams.
Rather than fretting over potential injuries, Slot embraces the international interludes as opportunities — along with sharing he stays busy as ever at Melwood.
“My family has stayed in Holland," Slot says.
We play many games, family comes over once in a while."
In a candid chat on LFC TV with ex-Liverpool keeper Sander Westerveld, who was a teammate of Slot's at Sparta Rotterdam, the Liverpool manager shared (via the Liverpool ECHO): "We have our international breaks, and the good thing then is that your quality time with your children and with your wife, if you are together, increases.
"Nobody has to feel sorry for me.
As the Liverpool manager, don't feel sorry for me at all!
And I can even say it's still good.
"I can switch off really well during those breaks.
