Arne Slot believes Virgil van Dijk has what it takes to be a top manager – despite his captain's current reluctance.
The Liverpool boss highlighted Van Dijk when discussing which of his players could make the switch to management after their playing days.
In a Sky Sports interview, Slot praised his captain's ability to convey tactical messages on the pitch.
Van Dijk has previously said he has no desire to go into management, although he hasn't completely ruled it out in the future.
With that in mind, Slot said: "I know he's not interested in becoming a manager, and that's Virgil.
"He's mostly the one I pick when I want to give information during the game.
He hasn't completely shut the door on management, telling Rio Ferdinand's podcast that he is keen to remain in the game after hanging up his boots.
The 33-year-old said: "I said no [to management], but that's also because coming to this hectic, busy, on-it life that my family is sacrificing a lot, my wife and my kid.
