Carragher has been one of the most outspoken pundits when it comes to sending transfer instructions to his old side, and the former Liverpool defender feels that - despite Van Dijk’s new contract - a new center-back has to be a priority this summer, along with an addition to the midfield.

Despite Carragher’s assertions, Slot has played down suggestions that Liverpool is in need of a big summer in the transfer market, with the Reds boss happy with the progress made by his side this season.
"There's not so many reasons to make it a busy one because we are quite well placed in the league and we have only lost in the Champions League against an incredible side which we were better than for 90 minutes at our stadium, I will add that one more time,” Slot said earlier this month.
