Former Liverpool defender Stephen Warnock said that Alexis Mac Allister looked "dead on his feet" during Sunday's victory over Wolves.
Mac Allister has figured in all but one of the Reds' 25 Premier League fixtures so far this season and has made 11 further appearances in cup and European competitions.
The Argentina international is clearly one of the first names on the team sheet under Arne Slot but Warnock believes he looked tired against Wolves this weekend.
“Liverpool have an issue as Alexis Mac Allister looks dead on his feet,” Warnock said on BBC Sport.
Reds head coach Slot made a concerning admission after the game as he acknowledged that the players looked more tired against Wolves than at any other point in the season.
"We needed to fight and we needed Alisson," Slot told Sky Sports.
If this is what it takes to win a game then I'm happy the players could do that again.
"Fatigue comes from running a lot and a bit of mental fatigue a lot.
Maybe it did lead to us being a bit tired
