Liverpool head coach Arne Slot could make history in a few hours.

Given this transition and only making one major signing in the form of Federico Chiesa, few fans and pundits predicted they would win the title this season.

Nevertheless, Slot quickly won over Liverpool fans with their impressive league form and they have been top of the league for several months now.



A league title this season would make him a legend of the club.

It would also be the first time a Liverpool manager has won the league in his first season since Kenny Dalglish’s first spell in charge in 1985/86.

Whereas Jurgen Klopp lived in Formby with his wife Ulla Sandrock during his time in the dugout, Slot’s wife Mirjam has stayed in the Netherlands, along with their son Joep and daughter Isa.

The Liverpool head coach explained last October that the decision for Mirjam, Joep, and Isa to remain in their home country was taken because both of the children were going through important spells in their academic development.

Slot said: "Both of them are doing their exams.

There are few publicly available details about Mirjam, but Slot previously revealed that his wife and children are the only people he speaks to outside of his staff and playing squad in the build-up to a match.

Earlier on in his Liverpool career in June 2024, an update from Isa revealed Slot was enjoying a family holiday in Ibiza.

Isa took to Instagram to share a snap alongside Slot and his wife, Mirjam as they sat by the pool soaking up the sunshine.

In his first few months living in the UK, Slot was also spotted at Michelin star-restaurant Moor Hall in Aughton and Bacaro on Castle Street in Liverpool city centre, an Italian-influenced restaurant which offers small plates, cocktails and outdoor seating.

Slot was born on 17 September 1978 in Bergentheim, a village in the municipality of Hardenberg, the Netherlands.

He was actually born Arend Martijn Slot, meaning Arne is a nickname.
