Arne Slot has said he looks for three key attributes when looking to sign a player.

However, should he dip into the market post-season, he will only be looking for players who can take the Reds to yet another level.

In the past, players who didn't run that much were maybe the best players in the world, the pace of the game was totally different.

"But especially in the Premier League you have to be fast, quick, turn fast, work very hard, run a lot and be able to go fast from A to B.

Salah's 30 goals and 21 assists so far this year is now perhaps the benchmark of class incoming players need to match, according to Slot.

“If you want to play at this club, you need to be at his [Salah's] level otherwise you are probably almost useless to play at this club because we only need players that are at the top of their game.

Because this is one of the best, or the best, club in the world to play for," the Liverpool coach said at a recent press conference.

Liverpool signed just two players ahead of the current campaign - Federico Chiesa from Juventus and goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili from Valencia - with the latter joining up with the Reds next season.

As to whether Slot and his backroom staff will venture into the market this summer, the Reds boss confirmed that having had a full season to assess his squad, he will be looking to bring in new recruits for next season.

"It is clear that we've assessed the squad," Slot said.
