One of Arsenal, Liverpool or Manchester City could be in business this summer thanks to a tempting free transfer opportunity.
Champions League winner Joshua Kimmich was widely expected to renew his contract at Bayern Munich earlier this week.
And club chiefs at the Allianz Arena have grown so frustrated with his slow-going approach that the entire proposal has now been withdrawn, according to Bild.
The report adds that Kimmich was informed about the offer 'no longer being valid' this week, as Bayern wanted a simple 'yes or no' decision.
Senior Bayern figures are said to have agreed at a recent board meeting that the terms of their extension proposal will not be improved.
There is still believed to be a chance that Bayern and Kimmich can reach a solution, although it is unclear whether the club is willing to reinstate the terms of their previous offer.
All the commotion will be music to the ears of Arsenal, Liverpool and City.
Last summer, Sky Germany reported that those three were the only Premier League clubs Kimmich would be interested in joining.
And it is hard to believe that the interest would not be reciprocated if it becomes clear that Kimmich is available.
Liverpool have long been linked with the German international, who could replace Trent Alexander-Arnold if he joins Real Madrid.
City boss Pep Guardiola signed Kimmich from RB Leipzig when he was manager of Bayern.
And Arsenal need to revamp their midfield options this summer, when Thomas Partey and Jorginho will both be out of contract.
As if a huge silverware haul would not be a serious enough indication of his quality, the fact Kimmich can play at right-back or central midfield will make him an attractive option in this summer's transfer window.
Overseas clubs like the Premier League trio in question have been free to negotiate with Kimmich's entourage since the turn of the year due to him being in the final six months of his contract.
The utility man has made well over 400 appearances for Bayern, is closing in on a century of caps for Germany, has won eight Bundesliga titles, a Champions League crown and a host of other domestic trophies during his decade-long stint at the Allianz.
