Newcastle United CEO Darren Eales has reminded potential suitors that star man Alexander Isak has a number of years left on his contract - with talks over an extension planned at the end of the season.
Swedish striker Isak is the third-highest scorer in the Premier League this season with 19 goals, behind only Mohamed Salah and Erling Haaland.
He has proved key to Eddie Howe's side since joining in a club-record move in the summer of 2022, helping Newcastle qualify for the Champions League in his first season.
The Magpies remain in contention for a top four finish this season, though fifth place could yet be enough for Champions League qualification.
That’s something that we will approach in the summer.”
Will Alexander Isak still be at Newcastle next season(
He also picked up an injury scare late on in regular time, leaving him with just a fortnight to recover for the Carabao Cup final, but former Newcastle star Alan Shearer expects him to be back in time.
“From what I’m hearing he’s going to be fine for the final," Shearer said on The Rest is Football podcast.
Newcastle have one more league match to navigate before the final, away at West Ham on March 10.
