Arteta has now shed more light on how Havertz picked up his injury and the "unexpected" nature of the blow.

"We were having a great camp in Dubai, recharging, training, reconnecting with nature," he told the media at his pre-match press conference.

Fortunately we have dealt with many injuries this season."

Ian Wright believes the pressure is on Raheem Sterling to deliver for Arteta amid his injury crisis.

"The last time I saw him come on and do something in a short space of time, that was against Manchester United - that's what you want to see from him, just come on and try to make something happen.

"The fans are hoping as well - you can hear their groans, so you feel that he's in that place where if he doesn't do anything positive, he can hear them coming - and that's not a great place to be."

On Havertz, he added: "For Kai Havertz to get an injury at this stage is just devastating.
