Arsenal could target a new striker this summer

Arsenal head into the latest international break off the back of a 1-0 win over London rivals Chelsea.

A goal from Mikel Merino earned the Gunners all three points at the Emirates on Sunday and leaves them 12 points behind Premier League leaders Liverpool in second.

A number of Arsenal stars will be away with their countries, but Mikel Arteta's side have some huge games coming up.

Following Arsenal's victory over Chelsea, Arteta admitted he was not fully satisfied with his side's performance.

"We should have done much more but we are very happy and it was an important game," the Spaniard told Sky Sports.

If we do, we are in a better position."

During the game, Gunners defender Jurrien Timber clashed with Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca and appeared to tell him to "try harder".

After the ball went out of play in stoppage time, Maresca and Timber were seen in conversation with each other.

It is unclear what Maresca told the Dutchman as his hand was over his mouth, but Timber could be seen appearing to say "try harder" in response.

Timber then offered a handshake to Maresca, which the Italian accepted before turning away with a smile on his face.

Timber did not address the clash post-match, but did share a simple message on social media as he wrote: "Another derby win," with a red heart emoji.

Arsenal star Myles Lewis-Skelly was named in Thomas Tuchel's first England squad and the teenager was over the moon with the news.

"I'm buzzing," Lewis-Skelly said when asked about his call-up.
