Viktor Gyokeres is emerging as a serious summer target for Arsenal given that Alexander Isak will prove difficult to prise away from Newcastle.
The Sporting Lisbon star, 26, was linked with the Gunners last summer and has plundered goals at a phenomenal rate since moving to Portugal on a free transfer from Coventry City back in the summer of 2023.
But former Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Petit says his old club should prioritise a move for Victor Osimhen instead, with the Frenchman arguing that the on-loan Galatasaray forward has 'more pedigree' than Gyokeres.

But Newcastle's reluctance to sell, plus the astronomical figure it would take to actually secure the Swedish striker's services, means Arsenal could opt to pursue their other targets.
Isak is widely recognised as one of the Premier League's most complete forwards and is also of interest to Liverpool.
He is contracted until 2028, though, and Arsenal are known to have other targets in mind ahead of the summer, including Viktor Gyokeres and RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko.
