Jayden Danns was one of two Liverpool players to leave on loan on deadline day, with the striker joining Sunderland for the remainder of the season.
The Black Cats beat out a host of Championship clubs to land the teenager on loan, with Danns signing a new Liverpool contract before heading out to Sunderland, who this season are aiming for a long-awaited return to the Premier League.
However, the 19-year-old has already hit a roadblock, with Danns joining Sunderland injured with a time frame on the forward’s return to action currently unknown, something that could cause some issues in the attacker playing regular minutes with the second-tier side.
And speaking to the reporters this week, Sunderland manager Regis Le Bris has issued a worrying update on when he expects Danns to make his debut for the Stadium of Light side, which could be some time.

Talking at a press conference, the French coach shared how Danns is getting along in his recovery, with Le Bris unsure when the on-loan Liverpool attacker will make his debut for Sunderland having signed on deadline day.
Le Bris said: “We don’t know at the moment with Jayden.
So, we will work with Liverpool to find the right moment to bring him into the side.”
With Andy Robertson impressed with Danns’ performance against PSV Eindhoven last month, the attacker picking up a problem right before joining Sunderland on loan is the last thing the England youth international would have wanted.
And with Sunderland in a bid to win promotion back up to the Premier League, it might be a while before Le Bris is willing to trust Danns with minutes in the first XI given how important each game now is for the Black Cats between now and the end of the season.

Danns is one of Liverpool’s most exciting academy prospects, with the 19-year-old attacker set for a big future if the forward can stay fit and show that he can deliver at the highest level, a journey that could start with Sunderland.
Yet the Black Cats weren’t the only side chasing the youngster, with Hull City also interested in Danns having had huge success with loaning in the likes of Tyler Morton and Fabio Carvalho from Liverpool in recent years.
Indeed, Danns will hope to recover from this injury set back as soon as possible, and the Liverpool academy star will be keen to show the world just how good he can be for one of the best sides in the Championship this season.
