Liverpool look likely to have some players in the running for the biggest individual awards in football this year.
After a couple of seasons away from the very top, a number of Reds stars have really stood out in 2024/25.
The likes of Virgil van Dijk are no strangers to PFA awards and Ballon d’Or podiums and we’d wager that Virgil may have to dust off his tuxedo once again this summer.
However, as things stand, the Liverpool captain is unlikely to be the front-runner for either award.
Instead, Mohamed Salah has been blowing all others away to stand head and shoulders above anyone else as the best in world football.
And after Salah continued his brilliant form with a goal and an assist on Wednesday against Everton, legendary Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has showered him with praise.

Salah is closing in on the most assists in a Premier League season having bagged his 14th of the campaign at Goodison Park.
The current holder of that particular record is former Arsenal hitman Thierry Henry.

With Wenger as his manager, Henry laid on 20 assists for his Gunners teammates in 2002/03, and scored 24 goals to boot.
And as Salah aims to smash his former player’s record, Wenger has told GOAL that the Egyptian is currently his favourite to watch in world football.

“The favourite player at the moment I think is a guy like Salah,” said FIFA’s Chief of Global Football Development.
“Because despite the longevity, his career is still at the top.”
Plenty of Liverpool fans could not care less whether Salah wins the Ballon d’Or in October.
There remains a strong possibility that the 32-year-old will not even be a Liverpool player by the time the ceremony comes around.
Nevertheless, it would clearly mean something to have had the best player in the world at Anfield for such a long period.
It is obviously a goal for Salah himself as well, and if it keeps him in this kind of form and firing Liverpool to trophies, we’re all for it.
Given his current level, it’s hard to see Mo missing out on the trophy currently held by Rodri.
