By now, most Liverpool fans are aware that former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is set to assume the role of Global Head of Soccer at Red Bull, effective January 1, 2025.
This strategic appointment will see Klopp overseeing Red Bull’s extensive network of football clubs, including RB Leipzig, Red Bull Salzburg, New York Red Bulls, Red Bull Bragantino, and more recently Japan club Omiya Ardija.
Klopp’s transition from the touchline to a global executive position marks a new chapter in his illustrious career.
In this capacity, he will not be involved in the day-to-day operations of the clubs but will provide strategic vision, support individual sporting directors, and contribute to the training and development of coaches.
Red Bull’s CEO of Corporate Projects and Investments, Oliver Mintzlaff, highlighted the significance of Klopp’s appointment, describing it as “the biggest appointment in the history of Red Bull’s involvement in soccer.”
Klopp’s decision to join Red Bull has elicited mixed reactions, particularly from fans of his former clubs in Germany.
Some supporters have expressed disappointment, viewing the move as a departure from the traditional club structures Klopp previously championed.
In response, Klopp defended his decision, stating, “I didn’t want to step on anybody’s toes, definitely not, and personally I love all of my ex-clubs.”
Nevertheless, it seems that Jurgen Klopp’s influence at Red Bull is already causing plenty of plenty waves amongst prospectors looking to acquire new clubs.
What is the latest on Jurgen Klopp at Red Bull?
There have been widespread reports that the Red Bull Group could be looking to acquire Ligue 2 side Paris FC.
In his new role, Klopp would be working with the outfit alongside one of France’s richest families – the Arnault family.
Now a member of the family has spoken up and reveals that these plans could very much turn into a reality with the former Reds boss at the forefront of this joint acquisition of Paris FC according to a report from AP.
“I’ve spoken with Klopp several times, and he’s very, very excited about working with us,” Antoine Arnault said, son of billionaire Bernard Arnault.

“We’re not coming in alone,” he confirmed “Red Bull is by our side because we know what we’re good at and what we’re not.
“Red Bull’s revolutionary data tools will greatly aid our scouting efforts.”
“This is a family project we started with my brothers and sister,” Arnault explained “We thought it was a good idea to venture into something more thrilling than our usual activities.
