Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola feels every point could prove expensive as his side look to push on and secure European qualification.

The Cherries head into the next round of Premier League fixtures sitting in eighth place, which could depending on how other team's own campaigns pan out be enough for a place in the Conference League next season.

With the likes of Fulham, Brighton, Brentford and FA Cup semi-finalists Crystal Palace all still very much within striking distance, Iraola knows there is likely to be little margin for error if Bournemouth are to achieve European football for the first time.

"At the end, we don't know what's going to happen.

What is going to be the position that gives you the access to Europe," Iraola said at a press conference ahead of Sunday's home game with Manchester United.

"More or less, we need to think is that there is seven teams that are ahead of us comfortably ahead of us and there are some teams around us...three, four teams that we are fighting for probably one spot, or maybe nothing because we don't know if Palace wins the cup, there is nothing to play for.

"But we want to think that at least there will be one position there that is open because the distances are one point, two points are really, really short and we know it is going to be difficult, especially for us because we have a difficult schedule.

We have to play against teams that are very good.

"But now at the end of the season, every point, whoever is the opposition, is very expensive and we have to go week by week and try to arrive with chances until the last game."

Iraola confirmed Colombia forward Luis Sinisterra was not set to be available again on Sunday because of a thigh injury, while midfielder Lewis Cook is doubtful as he continues to manage an ankle problem.

Defender Dean Huijsen has been one of Bournemouth's stand-out performers this season.

The 20-year-old Dutch-born Spain international has been linked with a big-money summer move away.

Real Madrid and Bayern Munich as well as several Premier League clubs including Liverpool and Arsenal are all said to be ready to match a reported £50million release clause.

Iraola, though, feels Huijsen remains fully focused on the end to the current campaign at the Vitality Stadium.

"From what I see every day, training and playing and I don't see it (speculation) affecting him at all," Iraola said.

"I see him in the same mood that he normally is, he is training well.

He is playing well also and I think, even being young, it's not something strange for him.

"He's coming from big teams (Juventus and Roma) even if they were not in the first team, so from teams, probably these things are quite natural and I see him quite normal."
