The family of a teenager who was killed in a crash on the M6 has shared their memories of him, highlighting his love for watching Liverpool FC as they paid tribute to his life.

Emergency services were called shortly after 12.15pm on Easter Sunday (April 20) when a Peugeot van left the motorway between junctions 34 and 33 southbound near University Hill and crashed into a tree.

Police confirmed that no other vehicles were involved in the incident.

A 14-year-old passenger in the van suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the van, a man in his 30s who is the dad of the passenger, also sustained serious injuries and was taken to the hospital, where he remains, according to Lancashire Police.

The boy who died has been identified as Ryan Liam Morgan from Morecambe.

His family released a heartfelt tribute, describing him as family-oriented, kind, and fun-loving.

They emphasised the close bond between Ryan and his dad.

In the tribute, they shared: "He adored his dad and would stand at the window asking, ‘When's dad coming back?’ every five minutes.

"He would help his dad take off his work boots when he was tired and would ask how his day was."

The family fondly recalled how Ryan and his dad enjoyed playing Fortnite together, arguing over who got what loot, and watching Liverpool and Blackpool FC matches.

They also reminisced about having wrestling matches and having father-son talks about life and relationships.

A GoFundMe has now been established for the family following Ryan's death.

The fundraiser states: "Ryan had many friends and big dreams; the whole family is devastated by this loss.

"We would love to create a memorial bench where we can all go to pay our respects to Ryan, especially his sisters, who he adored and will miss their big brother so much.

"We want them to know that Ryan will always be there for them, providing comfort.
