Brazil right-back’s agent reportedly holds talks with Liverpool as the club prepares for a possible change at right-back
Sometimes, big transfers don’t start with headlines.
They start with agents making quiet trips.
Meetings are booked.
Projects are explained.
It is all part of the process.
And when a young full-back from Brazil starts drawing attention, it’s usually for good reason.
Liverpool are not waiting around.
With talks of Trent Alexander-Arnold nearing a move to Real Madrid, the club looks to be preparing.
They are looking for someone who can defend strongly, attack when needed, and handle the pressure of playing at Anfield.
They want someone with the right mix of physical power and speed.
Someone who can do the basics right and still add something extra.
That search has led them to a young right-back from Brazil.
According to reports, representatives of 20-year-old Flamengo’s full-back Wesley are already in England, holding talks with several Premier League clubs.
Liverpool are pushing hard.
Wesley has impressed with his pace, strength, and ability to win one-on-one duels — traits that Liverpool value highly.
Flamengo know what they have.
Their football director, José Boto, has made it clear Wesley won’t leave easily.
He said: “But this will only happen if the clubs are willing to pay what we think Wesley is worth.”
That price is serious.
Wesley’s contract, renewed in July 2024, runs until December 2028 and includes a €200 million release clause (around R$1.29 billion).
Despite all the noise, Flamengo have no plans to let Wesley go before the Club World Cup.
But Liverpool are not alone?
Manchester City are also watching the situation, looking for a replacement for Kyle Walker after his move to Milan.
The summer window is still a few weeks away, but the battle lines for Wesley are already being drawn.
Liverpool are in the fight early — and they know exactly what is at stake.
