Liverpool’s chances of winning this season’s Champions League have been predicted by a supercomputer - and it makes for exciting reading for Reds fans.

Arne Slot’s side is set to discover its last-16 opponents later today as the draw is made in Nyon, Switzerland.

Liverpool is guaranteed to meet one of Paris Saint-Germain or Benfica after they booked their place in the next round by overcoming Brest and Monaco respectively in the play-offs.

Not only will the Reds find out who they will face in the next round, but their path to the final will also be mapped out, with some dream and nightmare scenarios possible.

That has put them in a great position for the rest of the tournament, with Slot’s side being tipped to be crowned champions of Europe for a seventh time.

CasinoHawks’ supercomputer has not only predicted how the last-16 will be drawn, but also simulated the rest of the competition, with Liverpool coming out as the most likely winners at 15.3%

The Reds are followed by Inter Milan (12.5%), Barcelona (11.5%), Arsenal (11.4%) and Real Madrid (10.2%).

After running 1,000 simulations, the supercomputer has predicted that Liverpool will be placed in the bottom half of the draw, which pits it against Benfica

Liverpool will find out its last-16 opponents in the Champions League on Friday

There are a few interesting results during the last-16, not least Arsenal being knocked out by PSV Eindhoven, while PSG beats Barcelona 3-0 on aggregate to set up a quarter-final with Club Brugge, who manage to overcome Lille to continue their remarkable run.

Liverpool then faces Borussia Dortmund in the final eight, and despite a 1-0 defeat in the first leg at Anfield, a 3-1 win in Germany sees the Reds through to the semi-finals, where they come up against Inter Milan after the Italian side knocks out Bayern Munich.

Inter are no match for Liverpool though, with the Reds dominating the semi-final, winning 2-0 at Anfield before a 4-2 victory at the San Siro sets up a final against PSG, who manage to squeeze past Real Madrid 4-3 on aggregate.

A thrilling final in Munich then sees the Reds claim their seventh European crown, with Liverpool coming out 4-3 winners over the French side
